Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi overthrown

Democratically elected Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi was overthrown in a military coup on July 3, 2013, just two years after mass protests in the country led to the resignation of Hosni Mubarak, who was president for almost 30 years.
