JURIST launches 30th anniversary webinar series with UN human rights expert Robert McCorquodale

JURIST, the student-powered international legal news organization, is proud to launch its 30th Anniversary celebration throughout 2026 with a special webinar series focused on the rule of law, human rights, and international justice.

The first webinar in the series will feature Robert McCorquodale, member of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights. The program will take place on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM EST.

Robert McCorquodale serves on the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, a five-member group of independent experts. An Australian national, he is Emeritus Professor of International Law and Human Rights at the University of Nottingham and a former barrister at Brick Court Chambers in London.

McCorquodale brings more than 30 years of experience working in the field of business and human rights. He has published extensively in this area, including empirical research, and has advised businesses of all sizes while assisting governments and civil society organizations around the world. His work has included capacity building, legislative proposals, training initiatives, and qualitative research. He has also appeared as an advocate before the International Court of Justice and the UK Supreme Court.

The JURIST 30th Anniversary webinar series will continue throughout 2026 with additional distinguished speakers addressing pressing global rule-of-law issues.
