Utah governor signs bill ending single-mark straight ticket voting

Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed a bill on Tuesday that will end single-mark straight ticket voting in Utah. Herbert signed a total of 148 bills into law on Tuesday.

House Bill 70 changes former law that allowed voters to mark one choice to vote for all candidates of a single party. Voters must now vote for individual candidates.

This bill will take effect before the election in November.
