Trump re-election campaign files libel suit against New York Times

Donald J Trump for President, Inc. filed suit against the New York Times for libel Wednesday.

The suit is in response to an article published by the Times titled “The Real Trump-Russia Quid Pro Quo” by Max Frankle.

According to the complaint, the article claims that there was an “overreaching deal between the Putin Oligarchy and the Trump campaign to help the campaign against Hilary Clinton.” The complaint states that Frankle has shown his bias against Trump before since he had called himself a “Democrat with a vengeance.” The campaign claim that the Times knows that what they printed was incorrect information and printed it with malicious intent and reckless disregard for the truth.

The complaint points to various articles by the Times that they allege show that the Times knows there was no conspiracy. The campaign seeks over a million dollars in damages.
