US lawmakers introduce bill to restore net neutrality

Democratic US lawmakers introduced a bill Wednesday to restore net neutrality.

The bill is titled the “Save the Internet Act of 2019” and would repeal an order issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It would also prohibit the FCC from reissuing the order and from issuing an order “that is substantially the same” as the previous order “unless the reissued or new rule is specifically authorized by a law enacted after the date of enactment of this Act.”

The bill is similar to “an effort last year to reverse” the FCC’s current order.
