[JURIST] AP is reporting that Pfc. Lynndie England [JURIST news archive] has been convicted on six of seven counts in court-martial proceedings for her role in the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal [JURIST news archive].
4:35 PM ET – After some two hours of deliberation the military jury of five officers found England guilty of one count of conspiracy, four counts of maltreating detainees and one count of committing an indecent act. It acquitted her of another conspiracy count. The court-martial now moves to sentencing, where England faces up to 10 years in prison. AP has more.
