Ukrainian opposition breaks off negotiations over election

[JURIST] A spokesperson for opposition presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko said Tuesday that Yushchenko is breaking off negotiations aimed at settling the political crisis that has arisen after Ukraine's presidential election. Current Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych had offered to give Yushchenko the prime minister's post if he becomes president, but Yushchenko did not accept, saying he wants to focus on allegations of vote fraud. The Kyiv Post has more. Yushchenko's announcement comes as opposition protesters are trying to push their way into the Ukrainian parliament building following this morning's parliament vote to nullify its earlier decision declaring the election invalid (reported here on JURIST's Paper Chase).
