HealthSouth settles SEC fraud charges for $100 million David Shucosky at 8:44 AM ET [JURIST] While jurors in the trial of former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy [JURIST news archive] still have not reached a verdict, the company itself settled SEC charges [SEC press release] on Wednesday related to his conduct and a company scheme to overstate earnings. HealthSouth [corporate website] will pay $100 million over two years, and promised continued cooperation with the SEC and the US Justice Department.
