[JURIST] Jury selection began Wednesday in the trial of a former Secret Service ink expert on perjury charges stemming from his testimony in the trial of Martha Stewart. Larry Stewart, who is not related to Martha Stewart, is charged with two counts of perjury for allegedly exaggerating his role in testing ink from a worksheet involved in the case and for claiming knowledge of a book proposal by colleagues.
Stewart could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the charges. Legal experts said the outcome of this trial would likely have little impact on Martha Stewart's appeal of her conviction. View the charges against Stewart here [PDF]. AP has more.
