UK report accusing US of human rights violations [UK Parliament]

Human Rights Annual Report 2004, UK Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, March 25, 2005 [report accusing the US of committing "grave violations" of human rights against prisoners in Guantanamo Bay, Afghanistan, and Iraq]. Excerpt:

We conclude that United States personnel appear to have committed grave violations of human rights of persons held in detention in various facilities in Iraq, Guantánamo Bay and Afghanistan. We recommend that the Government make it clear to the United States administration, both in public and in private, that such treatment of detainees is unacceptable.

Supreme Court said busing could be used to achieve racial integration

On April 20, 1971, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously in Swann v. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education that busing of school students could be ordered to achieve racial desegregation.

League of Nations dissolved

On April 20, 1946, the League of Nations was officially dissolved with the close of its final session. Thirty-four countries had attended the final meeting at which they elected to dismantle the organization and bequeath its assets to the United Nations.
